HippoDrone - Music & 16mm Film Performance
HIPPODRONE is the story of a race : the preparations, the wait, the start.
Then the frenzy of passing time, speed, screaming, muddy earth, and flying grass replace the sight of horses. Certain hoof movements are imprinted and the colors mingle.
These movements that escape the gaze and appear here in a more poetic than scientific way, as Eadweard Muybridge has been able to study them.
The film combines 16mm shots and sound recordings made during a race in Saint-Malo, experiments with prints in the film laboratory, found footage and silkscreen prints made directly on the film.
A galloping performance, between figuration, plastic experiments and abstractions of colors, shapes and movements.
