DAhLIA is a French indie rock band formed in Rennes in the late 1990s, blending pop songwriting with rock energy and subtle folk textures. Built around guitars, bass, drums, and cello, the band developed a sound that balances melodic intimacy with raw, emotional intensity.
Active throughout the 2000s, DahLIA released several albums and an EP, performing extensively on the French independent scene, playing such major french festivals as Les Eurockéenes, Les TransMusicales, Les Papillons de Nuit, Le Printemps de Bourges and in over 10 other countries (Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Syria, Gabon etc). Their music moves between acoustic delicacy and electric tension, with a strong focus on atmosphere, dynamics, and storytelling.
Driven by a DIY ethic and a taste for honest, unpolished arrangements, DAhLIA carved out a singular place between indie rock and alternative pop, music made for both quiet listening and the stage. Today, the project stands as a snapshot of a vibrant era of French independent music, still resonating through its recordings.
